A "Chinese" takeout and delivery restaurant in Tuscon, Eggrolls Etc. has reportedly drawn controversy from the local Asian American community for its recent advertising. The restaurant apparently distributed fliers that read, "Every order is delivered via rickshaw by first generation Chinese immigrants... We really should charge more for delivery, old Chinamen are getting expensive these days." Oh hell no. It's offensive, insensitive and plainly in poor taste: Chinese Restaurant Controversy. Now, it's bad enough that you're cooking up and selling this awful Americanized excuse for Chinese food. But to go the extra mile and provide this ridiculously racist text in a pathetic attempt to authenticate your crappy food... it's unbelievably insulting, and completely unnecessary. Of course the owner, Mike Reynolds, sees no offense in the ad, going along with the good old "can't you take a joke?" excuse. I can take a joke, but where exactly is the joke? That's racist!

UPDATE: Kevin points out that the Eggrolls Etc. website has the offending text, as well as similarly idiotic jokes and quips all over the restaurants menu. Chop Suey: "Like rock soup, but Chinese. No I'm not going to tell you what's in it. HaHaha." Fried Rice: "Don't Say Flied Lice, It's not funny... there's no "R" sound in Chinese... that's just cruel really... I know your saying it... Stop It Stop It Stop It!! That's it. NO RICE FOR YOU!!!!" Pretty much the most obnoxious menu I've ever seen. The worst part is, the footnote at the bottom clearly indicates that the inflammatory "humor" is unabashedly intended to generate more publicity for the restaurant (probably because the food sucks ass, and they have nothing else to go on).
