Last night at the 30th Asian American International Film Festival in New York, AAFilmLab presented the winners of this year's
72 Hour Shootout. Seventy-two crazy, frantic hours brainstorming, writing, shooting and editing a worthy film for the competition culminated in a screening of the top ten entries. It was a solid block of films that really raised the bar for this competition... but in the end, the grand prize (and supreme bragging rights) went to Team: 100% (Nadine Truong, Christopher Nguyen, Ryan Kim) for their film
You've Got Male. A funny, well-made piece that is sure to screen at a film festival near you. First runner up was awarded to Team HeadOn (Neil Sehgal, David J.Lee) for
Elizabeth Ong is Missing, and second runner up went to Foreign Image (Viet Nguyen) for
Secret Chinese Secret. Good stuff. For the complete top ten and individual award winners, go
