jon chu's step up 2 the streets opens today

Awwwwww yeah. Opening in theaters today is Step Up 2 the Streets, directed by Jon Chu. Judging from the trailer, there appears to be a lot of attractive young people dancing in this movie—the highly-anticipated follow up to Step Up. Having never seen the first one, I'll probably be totally lost if I go see this one. But damn, the moves are hot!

Okay, so this movie probably isn't intended for my demographic, and it looks pretty short on story. But I think it's kind of cool that first-time feature director Jon Chu gets to take on such a high-profile movie. According to the cast list over at IMDb, the movie features singer Cassie in one of the film's starring roles. Mari Koda and Harry Shum Jr are also in the cast. They don't appear to have huge parts, but based on the clips I've seen, they're pretty phenomenal dancers. And that's what counts, right?
