What the...!? More news on the upcoming bad Hollywood idea, aka the Karate Kid remake, starring Will Smith's son Jaden. The question for me has always been who would play the Miyagi character, originally made famous by Pat Morita (for better or for worse). Now we know.

Entertainment Weekly is reporting that none other than Jackie Chan will play the new Mr. Miyagi to Smith's Daniel-san: Jackie Chan to star in 'The Karate Kid' remake. The film will be directed by Harold Zwart (The Pink Panther 2), and will be shot entirely in China.

This is more of a confirmation, as Jackie Chan was actually rumored over a year ago. This has high potential for Chan to make a really big ass out of himself. Will it be a serious role? Or a more comic take on the character? At this point, I guess I don't really care.
