Miley Cyrus has issued an "apology" for the idiotic photo that surfaced earlier this week, showing her and her friends pulling back their eyes in a classic "chink eye" pose: Miley Cyrus Apologizes for Controversial Photos.

I'm sorry, but this is not an apology. This isn't even a half-assed apology. It's a foolish girl refusing to take repsonsibility for her actions. It blows my mind that this girl, adored by millions, thinks that this is somehow okay. On her official fansite, she writes:

"I've also been told there are some people upset about some pictures taken of me with friends making goofy faces! Well, I'm sorry if those people looked at those pics and took them wrong and out of context! In NO way was I making fun of any ethnicity! I was simply making a goofy face. When did that become newsworthy? It seems someone is trying to make something out of nothing to me. If that would of [sic] been anyone else, it would of been overlooked! I definitely feel like the press is trying to make me out as the new 'BAD GIRL'!"

Oh, right. It's our fault we're offended and interpreted the photos "wrong and out of context." You weren't making fun of any ethnicity... just making goofy faces. My ass. I don't disagree that you were acting stupid with your friends... but please, don't insult us by pretending you were doing anything other than that ching chong eye shit.

I'm sorry, but you are not the victim here. I don't care if you're sixteen or sixty. Nobody is picking on you. You've done something really stupid. The photos might have been taken in a "private" context with your idiot friends, but they somehow got out (oops!), and now you have to deal with the consequences. Don't just try to dismiss it as a "goofy" pose we just didn't get.
