photos from the vigil

Came across this Flickr stream (via LA Observed) of some really nice photos by Elizabeth Kim, from Wednesday night's vigil in Santa Monica for Euna Lee and Laura Ling. As you can see, the community made a solid showing of support. View more photos from the event here.

Though the scheduled June 4, 3:00pm local start time of the trial has passed, and North Korea's news agency hasn't released any information on the status of the proceedings: N.Korea Remains Silent on Trial of U.S. Journalists.

Watching Lisa Ling speak and appeal to the North Korean government on behalf of her sister, it struck me how much Euna and Laura's loved ones have been completely in the dark about their situation. They just have no idea what's happening, and absolutely no way of knowing. It's a truly scary situation. I pray for their safe return.
