starburst's scottish/korean "contradiction"

Have you seen the latest weird-ass Starburst commercial? It's bizarre: STARBURST Contradictions. While I like to see Asians folks talking in Scottish accents as much as the next guy, and the sight of an Asian man in a kilt is always funny... the sentiment behind this commercial is still problematic.

The implication is that someone who is both Korean and Scottish is an inherently strange contradiction. Why not just make a commercial with an Asian guy who also happens to be American? What a strange contradiction!

I'm told that there's a similar commercial out there with an albino lifeguard. Yeah. It should be noted that Starburst is manufactured by Mars, the same company that makes Skittles, which also has a history of making some really weird commercials.
