Last year, I wrote about The Sukey Rose Project, which followed Los Angeles-based indie singer/songwriter Mia Kim as she strived to produce her entirely fan-funded sophomore album, Who Is Sukey Rose? It was an intriguing endeavor, getting fans involved by having them fund the entire project and gathering their input during the process.

Since then, the money has been raised and the album has been recorded, produced and finished. Who Is Sukey Rose was released last month, completely powered by fan support. More than a hundred fans contributed to the album presale that launched last year. Altogether, Mia's supporters helped raise more than $8,400 towards recording costs.

And now you get your hands on the album! Produced by veteran indie rock musician and producer Jason Martin, the album is a mix of alternative pop-rock tunes exploring the identity of a fictional character named Sukey Rose. It's got a good mix of catchy rock-out songs and more moody, contemplative tunes. Listen to some sample tracks here.
