abercrombie does it again
Oh, Abercrombie. The clothing retailer continues to show that it has a very specific, narrow image in mind when it comes to who they want to represent the brand. If you don't fit that image, don't even bother applying.

In Tulsa, Oklahoma, a 17-year old Muslim girl has filed a federal lawsuit against A&F alleging that the store refused to her her because she wore a head scarf: Teen Alleges Discrimination by Abercrombie & Fitch.

Attorneys for the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission filed the lawsuit this week in U.S. District Court in Tulsa.

According to the suit, Samantha Elauf applied for a sales position at the Abercrombie Kids store in the Woodland Hills Mall in Tulsa in June 2008. The teen, who wears a hijab, claims the manager told her the head scarf violates the store's "Look Policy."

Ah, the "Look Policy." It has gotten them in trouble before -- looks like no one bothered to pass along that memo to employees at the Tulsa store.

Let me reiterate how much I enjoyed hearing the news that Abercrombie's sales are hurting in this recession. At this rate, I'll soon never have to see another person wearing an obnoxious A & F hoodie again.
