superintendent refuses meeting with south philly high students
Got word that late last night Superintendent Arlene Ackerman refused a request to meet with student leaders of the boycott at South Philadelphia High School.

The students had requested to present their concerns about how to ensure a safe transition back to school, including a meeting with the staff at South Philly High. Dr. Ackerman responded that she would only meet with students on school grounds "where they belong." There's a press conference scheduled for this afternoon:

Press Conference: Why won't the District talk with us?
Dec. 11th, 2 p.m.
Philadelphia Chinatown Development Corporation
9th and Wood St., just north of Vine
